One person has been taken to hospital after an explosion at a laboratory in Oslo – Greater Oslo

The police received a report of a fire in a laboratory and an explosion at 09.30 on Wednesday. The person who was transported to Ullevål hospital has extensive burns, according to the police. The other person is taken care of by an ambulance at the scene. Operations manager Per Ivar Iversen says that the cause of the explosion is unclear. The fire has been extinguished and the building has been evacuated. The building is a larger commercial building where, among other things, Legevakten Vest and the University of Oslo have premises. According to Aftenposten, medical students must have had their exams on the floor below where the explosion occurred. It is not known what kind of substance may have been in the laboratory.
