Stop at “Klein Umbrella” to log in to the online bank – news Vestland

In recent years, we Norwegians have become accustomed to activating BankID on our mobile when we go to Helsenorge, Altinn and the online bank. But not everyone has realized that from September BankID on mobile will be phased out in favor of a separate app. From then on, new users will not be able to activate the old version. Fred and Svein Ligaard both use BankID on mobile. For them, the change is unexpected. – We haven’t caught on to this, say the two. The reason for the change has to do with BankID wanting to open up for authentication using face, fingerprint or PIN, which is not possible now. For Svein and Fred Ligaard, it is unexpected that they will soon not be able to use BankID on mobile. The banks news have spoken with victory, they have informed the customers about what is happening. At the counter at Sparebanken Sogn og Fjordane, Johannes Sunde Farsund guides the customers who come in about the change from mobile to app. – Many of them like the old and familiar, says Farsund. At Sparebanken Vest, communications director Hanne Dankertsen says that there are many people who have already downloaded the BankID app. – Nevertheless, we get a lot of inquiries about this these days, she says. This is how it will look when you download the app to which it will be changed. Photo: Kasper Valestrand/news The code tag does not disappear But not everyone is equally satisfied with the information about what is now happening. – I just came across a random Facebook post about the change, says Jonas Eimhjellen. Although BankID will now switch from mobile to app, this does not mean that the good old code chip will disappear. You will still have the option of using the code tag when you want to log in to sites such as the online bank and Altinn. – The customers who leave here are safe. In the cooperation on the BankID app, there are over 100 banks. One of the banks that has not adopted the app is Danske Bank. The reason is that the bank has developed its own system, Mobil-ID, which has the same functionality and level of security as BankID. – Part of the reason for this is that we already saw at the development stage that a new and better BankID solution was on the way, says Eivind Evjen, communications consultant at Danske Bank. When Johannes Sunde Farsund at Sparebanken Sogn og Fjordane guides customers about the app, they usually test together that the app works. – So the vast majority of the customers who leave here are sure what they are going to do.
