The Houthis have claimed responsibility for the attack on the ship, the American-owned True Confidence. It sails under the Barbadian flag. The attack occurred off Yemen’s southern coast, near the city of Aden, on Wednesday. According to the AP news agency, which is confirmed by unnamed US officials that the attack caused “several deaths”, these are the first deaths as a result of the Houthis’ attack in the waters of the region.
