In a statement on its website, the club apologizes for the situation. – Lyngby Boldklub apologizes and hopes for understanding from the fans and the wider world, in addition to Magne Hoseth, the club wrote. – Surprisingly, Hoseth was presented as the new Lyngby coach on 11 January this year. He then signed a contract that would last until the summer of 2026. But he only managed to rent the Danish team for two games. Both still with losses. On the other hand, they won the first training match where Hoseth made his debut as a coach. Magne Hoseth came from his job as head coach at the Faroese club Klaksvik. I had made a plan for the road ahead, so it came as a surprise. – First you get a lot of attention, then you are surprised and then you just have to move on. The coach believes he would have succeeded in creating a development in the club, had he been given more time. – It is difficult to make a change, especially in a club that has had one type of player style over a long period. I will be brought in by the board to change this, but then it will be a process that will take a long time. I didn’t get that time. They quickly got impatient and then it happened like this, says Hoseth. He says that it is frustrating not to have more time to try and create a change in the club. – To be convicted after 50 days, regardless of working life, is completely insane. The board had to make some choices. I don’t understand it, but I respect it. At the same time, he thanks the squad, the staff and the management in Lyngby for the experience and the chance he got, and wishes them all the best in the future. – No stopping Hoseth came from his job as head coach at the Faroese club Klaksvik. There he had great success and, among other things, was involved in leasing the club to the third qualifying round in the Meisterliga. He has also been assistant coach for Kristiansund BK and played for teams such as Molde FK, FC Copenhagen, Vålerenga, Stabæk and Viking. Hoseth says that the short time in Lyngby will not stop him from investing further in his coaching career. Now he will take new coaching courses, before he and his family gradually return to Norway. – This is just a speed bump on my way forward. I believe in what I stand for as a coach. It won’t be too long before I’m back in the trainer’s chair again. – “Misjudgment” In a press release, the club states that the decision to end contact with Hoseth had nothing to do with the results, but that it was a “misjudgment” on the club’s part. The lease and the owners of the club write that the fault lies exclusively with them and that they are sorry. – We are terribly sorry for this situation. We are the only ones who can be criticized for this, and we do everything to help Magne and his family further. We are the ones who took him out of a good job and got his family to Denmark. Thus, it must be us who take responsibility, says Lyngby director Andreas Byder in a press release. Lyngby is in ninth place in the Danish Superliga after 19 league rounds. The decision is primarily based on a lack of support, both from the other coaching team and the squad, the press release states. – Without it, it would have been almost impossible for the club’s management and owners to do anything other than react now, knowing that from the outside it can be seen as drastic and far too quickly. NTB has been in contact with the day-to-day manager of the Norwegian coaches’ association, Geir Åge Olsen. At present, he does not wish to comment on Hoseth’s departure.
