Went from Nordkapp to Lindesnes in ten days – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

– I’m quite tired now, yes. That’s what Ramsfjell told news on Tuesday afternoon after walking the length of Norway. He thus entered the history books as the fastest of all time from Nordkapp to Lindenes – on roller skis. Brutal stage Ramsfjell aimed to reach Lindesnes within 13 days, but towards the end of the record attempt he saw the possibility of breaking the previous record, which was 21 days. So the 22-year-old made a plan: the last stage had to last 24 hours. The last stage started a few miles outside Eidsvoll on Monday morning. Ramsfjell went in one stretch to Lindesnes, arriving at ten o’clock on Tuesday. A stage of a staggering 484 kilometres. – When I finally got there, the lighthouse came on a bit suddenly, because suddenly it was just there. It was special to get there, because the last five miles went extra slowly, says Ramsfjell. Photo: Private “Spontantur” The biggest challenge on the trip was getting enough sleep and the stages at night. The 22-year-old got between three and six hours of sleep per night. – You have to have an inner motivation and like to keep going for a long time, in any case when you keep going for days. The inner motivation must be in place, says Ramsfjell. LONG NIGHTS: Kevin Brekken Ramsfjell and father Alf Terje Ramsfjell at Nordkapp in the midnight sun before the record attempt. Photo: Private The 22-year-old is actually investing in ultra running – and the idea of going the length of Norway on roller skis came spontaneously. Two years ago he entertained the idea of running the length of Norway, but quickly found that he needed a better basis to carry it out. So he decided to walk the distance on roller skis instead. – If my gut tells me something, I’ve learned that you just have to follow it. When it’s finished, I’ve learned a lot about myself and my limits, says Ramsfjell. Inspired long-distance legend One person who knows a lot about torturing himself is Anders Aukland. He holds the world record for the longest distance on cross-country skiing in one stretch. It is a whopping 700 kilometers and just under 41 hours. He let himself be amazed by the performance of the 22-year-old. – I am very impressed and inspired. It’s great fun that he executes so well. He is really tough and tough, says Aukland. TOUGHNESS: Anders Aukland has several thousand hours behind him with rods attached to his hands. Photo: Hans Solbakken / news The long-distance king highlights age as something of the most extreme. To carry out such a test of strength requires enormous amounts of training over several years – in addition to tolerating both the physical and psychological stresses, we must believe Aukland. – It comes down to distributing the forces and managing to get enough food and nutrition. In addition to not getting muscular pain. The fact that he is so young and can do it so well is impressive. You have to have some will and qualities to carry out something like this, says Aukland, who will now have to keep a close eye on the 22-year-old in the future. Wants to focus on ultra running Even with a tired body and a tired head, Ramsfjell has already started thinking about the next challenge. He is the most likely to make it happen. – I will probably bet on ultra running – I think it’s fun and I give myself the most. I can take the experiences from this trip with me further into ultra running, says Ramsfjell. MILE AFTER MILE: This is what it looked like when the 22-year-old crossed the Senna Land from Skaidi to Alta on the E6 in Finnmark.
