Two people have been charged with sexual intercourse with children under the age of 14 – news Møre og Romsdal – Local news, TV and radio

State prosecutor Jogeir Nogva confirms this to news. Five people were originally charged with sexual intercourse with children under the age of 14, or complicity in it, in July last year. One of the accused must be over 18, the other under 18. Both are accused of aggravated rape. The remaining three who were charged are under the criminal minimum age – and therefore the case against them is dismissed. – This is a matter that appears to be taken very seriously. It is not without reason that we chose to bring charges for aggravated rape, says the state attorney to Romsdal’s Budstikke – who mentioned the charges first. Video of the assault The indictment states that the rape is serious because particular emphasis is placed on the fact that it was committed by several people together, and in an offensive way. The two are also charged with filming, sharing or being in possession of videos of the abuse. – Great stress Curt Andre Lier, legal representative for the minor girl, says that the case is very serious. – There are more people than these two who have been involved, but they are under the legal age of majority. It will be good to have this settled in court, because this is a great burden for a very young girl, he says. The defense attorney for the accused under 18, Erik Rolfsen, says his client is aware of the indictment. – For him, this is a serious matter, and he will explain himself and give his version in court, says Rolfsen. They will not comment on the question of guilt. Axel Lange is the defender of the man over the age of 18. His client has been informed, but has not yet taken a position on the charge. Lange also notes that the final charge has changed in relation to the charge. The case will appear in court in April. Seven days have been set aside for the case. Background The assault is said to have taken place on Monday 24 July 2023. On 28 July 2023, the police released the information, saying that five people had been charged. There were no other suspects. The victim was a minor girl. Police inspector Anders Skorpen-Trøen then said that it was a very serious charge, and that the police had used a lot of resources to find out what had happened. The defense attorney for the offended girl said that she was deeply affected by what had happened. – She is looked after by the family and the public. The police have followed up very well and done an efficient and good job so far, said assistant lawyer Curt Andre Lier. The person over 18, who is now charged, was detained for several weeks because the police were afraid evidence could be lost if not. Digital material was seized, and a few months later it became clear that abuse videos from the incident were shared on social media. – We take the division very seriously, and follow up with both prevention and investigation. For the girl offended in the case, each sharing is a new assault, the police said.
