Today came the verdict from the Hordaland district court. They conclude that it is beyond reasonable doubt that the man has done what he was accused of, and sentence the man in his 30s to an unconditional prison sentence. There were two cases of abuse that were reported to the police, and in connection with the investigation, the police reopened a case from 2019 that had been dropped. The man has now also been sentenced for these conditions. Police prosecutor Eli Andrea Skaar was the prosecutor in the case, she made a claim that the man had to be sentenced to 14 years in prison. – WE register that we were upheld on the issue of guilt, but will, in consultation with the state attorney, consider an appeal against the sentencing. We will decide on that next week, says Skaar. The main evidence is the explanations of the three children. During the trial, it was problematic that the children’s arranged questioning could have been influenced by outsiders. Among other things, it was pointed out that it took almost three years between two of the interrogations of one of the girls, and that the explanation she gave in the last interrogation deviates greatly from what she explained the first time. The court writes in the judgment that they rely on the interrogations of the children and find no basis for concluding that the children were influenced by any outsiders in connection with what they have said. Appeal the decision Defense attorney Ivar Abrahamsen says they will appeal the verdict. It will be appealed, writes defender Ivar Abrahamsen in a text message to news.
