Rainbow in freezing temperatures – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

– It is not usual, says state meteorologist Magnus Oved. Unusual, but it happens from time to time. The meteorologist says that if it were to happen somewhere, it would be on the coast of Trøndelag and Nordland. The reason for the phenomenon? There is a quite natural explanation. – The temperature in the air and where you are standing can differ quite a bit. There can therefore be water droplets in the cloud, even if there are temperatures down to minus 15 degrees on the ground. Warm in the sea For there to be a rainbow, raindrops are a prerequisite. Although it is minus degrees in Trondheim, it is around 0 degrees outside on the coast of Trøndelag. – It could be that these storm clouds coming from the coast are a little warmer. It is still quite mild over the sea, which can bring rain at the far end of the coast. In other words, it’s not so strange – but not everyday food when it’s as cool outside as it is now. This is how it looked from Moholt in Trondheim on Friday morning. Slowly but surely there will be a change in weather. Oved says that there will generally be combined snowy weather in southern parts of the country. A lot of snow is expected in Agder. A yellow warning for snow has been issued in Trøndelag. Photo: Meteorological Institute A yellow danger warning has been issued for snow in Trøndelag and Helgeland. In addition, a danger warning has been issued for Agder which will be valid until Saturday evening. – There are also many avalanche warnings that are valid in large parts of the country.
