Opens to scrap Liberals in bourgeois government – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

– We must stop depending on the Left. That time is over. We should be open to all cooperation on the civic side. It also means a government without the Liberal Party, with only the Progressive Party, Høgre and KrF. That’s what KrFU leader Hadle Rasmus Bjuland says the day before KrF’s big national conference in Gardermoen. – I think a Right-Frp-KrF government is just as relevant as a Right-Left-KrF government, he says to news. As leader of the youth party, Bjuland also sits on KrF’s central board. – What is wrong with the Liberal Party? – KrF and Venstre stand together on many social issues, but then I also think that we are far from each other on many issues: in district politics, when it comes to EU membership and matters of value, such as the abortion limit to 18 weeks and the decriminalization of drugs, says Party land. Doubtful of each other This weekend, party leader Olaug Bollestad is gathering around 300 party members for a national conference. Then cooperation on the civic side also becomes a theme. KrF leader Bollestad comments on Bjuland’s outcome as follows: – There will be a lot of water in the lake before we get to what the situation will be in 2025. But what I can say is that when we were in government with the Liberals and the Right, we got a lot more. TOGETHER? Photo: NTB KrF was from 2013 to 2021 part of the parliamentary foundation of the Solberg government. In the first period, KrF and precisely Venstre had a cooperation agreement with the Høgre/Frp government. The left entered the government in 2018. After the dramatic election in 2018 – when the KrF narrowly chose the right over the left – the KrF also entered the government, which then gained a majority. In 2020, the Frp left the government. Today, Bollestad says that political influence and getting rid of the current government is the most important thing for KrF. And to drag politics towards the centre. – KrFU says they are open to all constellations on the civil side. Are you? – The party leader in the FRP said that what the KrF had achieved was quite demanding for them. And they chose to leave the government. And they want to form a government with Høgre. So it is actually someone who has closed the door to us, more than we have closed the door to them. CIVIL GATHERING: Who will rule with whom if there will be civil elections next autumn? Photo: NTB Shift out Støre The Left also has a national conference this weekend. But Venstre leader Guri Melby refers to Unge Venstre leader Ane Breivik to comment on Bjuland’s plans for cooperation. Breivik believes the statements of the KrFU leader are premature. She takes it as a compliment that KrFU believes Venstre gained so much traction last time that they do not want to be dependent on the party in the future. – If a bourgeois government is to win by 2025, Venstre must be part of it, she says to news. – I am not necessarily very concerned with KrF in this calculation. I am keen to gain traction for Venstre’s policy. Then we have to return to government, says the Young Left leader. PREMATURE: Young Liberal leader Ane Breivik. Photo: Kristian Skårdalsmo Even if Bjuland does not want KrF to bind itself to Venstre, he is also open to government cooperation with the party. At the same time, the KrFU leader underlines that the most important thing is to get the Støre government replaced. – We are closing the door on a Støre collaboration in 2025. Today’s government is taking the country in reverse, he believes – and points to less room for private and non-profit actors and more control and overriding of the families. Bjuland is eager to expand nuclear power in Norway and will overcome increasing youth crime through stricter drug policy and leisure cards for children and young people. – These are issues where we can just as easily find a way together with the FRP as with the Liberal Party, he says.
