One early morning this winter, several witnesses reported to the police that a car was on fire in Øygarden outside Bergen. In a deserted industrial area, the investigators found the car and the remains of Tina Milena Solberg. She is said to have been killed in her own home earlier that morning. Solberg’s former roommate is also in his 30s, and has pleaded guilty to murder. Two children remain, with a mother who has been killed and a father who has witnessed the murder. Now over 3,000 donors have given over NOK 730,000 to a fundraising campaign for the two children. For the children’s future – The motivation is that these children should have as good a future as possible. That it should make their lives a little easier, even if money can never replace their mother, of course, says Eva Elisabeth Eriksen. She created the Spleis action a week ago. I am completely devastated. I cannot fathom and understand that she is no longer here. All the money that is donated will go to an education fund. Altogether, the Eriksen family wants to collect one and a half million kroner. Halfway to the goal, Eriksen describes Solberg as his best friend. They went to the same junior high school from ninth grade, and were like “Pompel and Pilt” in their youth. Solberg (f) and Eriksen (h) on a class trip to Denmark in 2006. Eriksen said that Solberg’s family had sent a message and called, and said that they really appreciated this connection. – She had a heart of gold. Actually far from the best, but as a mother she was absolutely fantastic. They stood before absolutely everything, she says of the children. – I hope people continue to contribute.
