The snowy weather can also obstruct visibility for those using the party fireworks. The fire service also fears that strong winds can also increase the risk of fire. – When the fireworks change direction, they can enter buildings and ignite them. We saw that happen at a school not many years ago, says Juva. A yellow warning for gales has also been issued for Karmøy and Utsira in the north, and a yellow warning for storms for Utsira in the south of Rogaland. – There will be a lot of wind throughout the county, it’s good to be careful in the New Year and wear safety glasses and take extra care, says meteorologist Alexander Skeltved. It can get a little cold in many places, says state meteorologist Terje Alsvik Walløe. Further south in the country towards Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal, the wind will be more embarrassing. – Especially north in Trøndelag. There, the wind will be felt well, even if the weather is clear and fine, then the wind will make it feel a little extra sour and cold. In Nordland, you can expect a nice evening with easterly winds. The meteorologist explains that it will be cold, but not super cold. In Bodø there may be a slight gale with a fresh breeze. – There are often northern lights in Northern Norway when there are few clouds, but it is not so easy to say in advance. You have to check the Northern Lights forecast when it approaches, but it’s not quite my table. Fine weather conditions for fireworks in the north, New Year’s Eve. Photo: Stein Roar Leite / news
