After identifying the dead, authorities have informed their families, the Israeli military (IDF) said in a statement on Tuesday. The two hostages were taken by Hamas during the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, according to the IDF. They have now been returned to Israel, the statement says. Hamas and the Islamic Holy War (Jihad) took close to 250 Israeli and foreign hostages during the October 7 attack. 108 have since been released. (NTB)
