Chaos with the clock between Norway and France – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

– It shouldn’t happen and it can’t happen, says Norway’s goalkeeper coach Mats Olsson to news about the clock problems that marked the first half in Trondheim. Norway eventually lost 23-24 in a match that lived to the last throw, and with that France became the group winner. The Netherlands will thus be Norway’s opponents in Wednesday’s World Cup quarter-final. The 2019 world champions are, on paper, a far tougher opposition than the Czech Republic. – The road will be a little more difficult, but I am still confident of Norwegian gold, says news expert Amanda Kurtovic. The match was stopped for several minutes after the clock had gone too far, and soon after it was restarted there was another stop as Norway had not recorded a score. – There are many millions invested in halls and then you fail on something as simple as the clock, says Olsson. – Now we’re starting to call it a parody. This is my 21st championship, and I have not come across this. I’ve been away buzzing with the clock, but I can’t say I’ve experienced it for so long and so much, says news commentator Patrick Sten Rowlands. Captain Stine Bredal Oftedal himself went to the secretariat, and the players started with exercises to keep warm. – We cannot do anything about it. I told them that we can use a manual clock and pen and paper, as we used to do in the past. It usually works best, says Olsson and continues: – The only thing that is affected by it is that you lose adrenaline. There weren’t many minutes left on Helgidiv, and now we get time to move.
