Police professional investigation manager in Trøndelag police district, Gøran Moen Grendal, confirms to news that a man in his 90s died in the fire. Relatives have been notified. Operations manager Bjørnar Gaavik tells news that there have been flames inside the house, and lots of smoke. – We chose to notify nearby homes, so that they can close their windows, he says. Operations leader in the fire service, Robert Olsson, says that the fire started on the first floor, before it spread further into the house structure. – It has burned heavily inside. There has been a lot of smoke in the area. There has been no danger of spreading, says Olsson. The fire was reported via a fire alarm which alerted a security company. The fire service has the fire under control and is investigating the cause of the fire.
