Several tonnes of mainly sardines and mackerel have been left over a large area on the coast of Hakodate in Japan. What happened is still unclear, but a researcher tells Sky News that the fish may have become exhausted while being chased by larger fish. The lack of oxygen may then have led to the fish being washed up on land.
