16 November 2023 at 12:58 Dog helped cat trapped in manhole A dog in Horten discovered that a cat was stuck in a manhole on Thursday morning. Just before eleven o’clock the 110 central received a call from a woman at Nykirke in Horten. She was walking the dog, when it reacted to a cat trapped under the grate lid of a water trough. Fire constable Martin Paulsen says via the Vestfold Intermunicipal Fire Service that the cat was sitting on a pipe end below the grate. It is likely that the cat entered the basin via an extension cord. The fire brigade had to chop up soil and ice before they could break open the grate. – The cat was very wet and cold. Neighbor Vilde Årøy came over with towels and together we wrapped up the kitty cat. We don’t know who owns the cat, so Vilde will take care of it until the owner comes forward, says the fire constable. The fire service thanks the dog and the woman who reported it, as well as Vilde who takes good care of the cat.
