Responding to oil spill in Nidelva in Trondheim – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

– Blueshine has been confirmed and observed in Nidelva, says supervisor at the 110 central in Trondheim, Eivind Schjøtt. “Blueshine” is a term used to refer to the film that settles on the surface of the water when oil, fuel and the like are spilled. The oil spill should be a few hundred meters south of Sluppen bridge in Trondheim. He says that they put out bilges at the spill site, to prevent it from continuing. They have spent time investigating where the oil came from. The oil came from a sump, where they have now laid absorbent bark to prevent further spills. The environmental unit in Trondheim municipality is also involved. The contamination must have occurred 500 meters south of the old Sluppen bridge. It can look very large, without necessarily being large. – We have several units on site and a drone in the air to get a better overview. He says that they also have special crews in place who have extra expertise in emissions and pollution. This is where the oil has come from.
