Tupac was one of hip-hop’s biggest artists in the 90s, also known as 2Pac. He sold more than 80 million albums worldwide at a time when people bought physical records. Tupac himself was convicted and imprisoned for rape in 1995. In the last part of his career, he became involved in the hip-hop war between the American West and East coasts. On 7 September 1996, he was shot by someone sitting in a passing car. Six days later, he died in hospital, aged just 25. The matter has never been resolved. Arrest on the way The police have now arrested and charged a person in the case. Several news agencies are now reporting that he has been charged with murder. The arrest takes place two months after the police searched a house outside Las Vegas in connection with the murder of the rapper. He released five albums before he was killed, but there have been a number of releases also after his death. Tupac was also an actor and most recently in June this year he was honored with a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, posthumously. He managed to have leading roles in six films, the two most famous of which are in Juice (1992) and Gridlock’d (1997).
