20 September 2023 at 16:05 Asking people in parts of Oslo to boil their drinking water Oslo municipality is asking people who live in Røa, Bogstad, Voksen skog, Midtstuen, Vettakollen, Voksenåsen, Holmenkollen and Tryvann to boil their drinking water. The recommendation also applies to parts of Bærum, because Bærum municipality currently receives drinking water from Oslo municipality. This means that all water that goes into the mouth must first be boiled, according to the Water and Wastewater Agency. This applies to water that is to be drunk, but also water that is, for example, used in coffee machines, for ice cubes with or for brushing teeth. The boiling recommendation applies from Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Water and Wastewater Agency will continue the investigations and take more water samples from the area over the next few days. They write that it is too early to say anything about when the cooking recommendation will be lifted. The earliest possible time is Saturday 23 September, if the water samples over the next few days show no signs of contamination. The reason why people are asked to boil their water is that local contamination has been recorded in water samples from the area, the municipality writes on its website. People are notified by SMS and/or email.
