The crane truck drove into the underpass and scratched up the museum – news Nordland

Just after 14:00 on Monday, a truck drove under the Norwegian Aviation Museum in Bodø. However, it was too heavily loaded. – It is a vehicle that has had too high a load and that has caught the roof plates, says operations manager Ulf Slettan in the police in Nordland. And this is not the first time the museum has had an unwanted visitor through the floor. In 2012, exactly the same thing happened – and now the director is calling for measures to avoid more accidents. Violent shaking in the building The police in Nordland say that national highway 80 near the museum is now closed. Several meters of roof tiles have been torn to pieces by the crane, and clean-up work is ongoing at the site. Insulation and other floor remains in Olav V. street. The stretch is used a lot by both pedestrians, cyclists and cars. The truck has made a solid mark on the roof of the underpass. Director of the Norwegian Aviation Museum, Rolf Liland, tells news that those who were at work quickly realized what was happening. – They experienced strong shaking in the building. I think they realized what happened, because it’s not the first time. The Norwegian Aviation Museum is located in the center of Bodø. Since the accident happened in 2012, it has naturally been a topic of conversation from time to time. – Everyone probably knows what it is when it happens. Liland emphasizes that no employees have expressed that they were frightened, but that they will still debrief the whole thing with everyone who was at work. Rolf Liland, director of the Norwegian Aviation Museum, says that they will now call for measures in connection with the downfall. Construction traffic also passes under the museum. The director says the museum has previously been in contact with the authorities to get warning signs or the like in place – so that accidents are avoided. – In order to prevent this from happening again, you actually have to take some active measures. The police are working at the scene after the accident.
