12 July 2023 at 17:13 Erdogan: Turkey will not accept Sweden’s NATO application before October Turkish President Erdogan says that he expects Sweden to take concrete steps against terrorism in exchange for Turkey ratifying the agreement on approval of Sweden’s NATO application, reports Reuters. Erdogan and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson agreed on Monday that Turkey should approve Sweden’s NATO application. For the application to be formally approved, it must go through the Turkish Parliament. It has not been determined when the Turkish parliament will ratify the agreement. Parliament will remain closed until 1 October, so the approval must take place after that.
