Found several errors on MS Oslofjord – immediately taken out of traffic – news Vestfold and Telemark – Local news, TV and radio

The Norwegian Maritime Directorate has banned MS Oslofjord from sailing after several faults with the ship were discovered. The ban was given after the Norwegian Maritime Directorate was on an unannounced inspection on Wednesday. Sandefjords Blad reported the case first. – The reason for the sailing ban is that faults have been found in 12 fire dampers on the ferry and a leak from a thruster, writes Helga Maria Sulen Sund in the Norwegian Maritime Directorate to the newspaper. The fault with the fire dampers must have been that they did not allow themselves to be closed. The oil leak must be between 40 and 80 litres. MS Oslofjord is now docked in Sandefjord. The shipping company is not allowed to sail with the ship until the faults have been corrected. Several thousand passengers affected The shipping company has thus had to cancel three departures on Wednesday and four departures on Thursday. 3,000 passengers are affected by the sailing ban, but according to the plan, the ferry can run as normal between Sandefjord and Strømstad from Friday morning. – We are of course very sorry for this, but we only have to do what the Norwegian Maritime Directorate orders us to do, says CEO Brian Thorsted Hansen of Fjord Line to news.
