12 June 2023 at 13:03 Not happened for 20 years Tennis legend Rafael Nadal is for the first time since 2003 outside the top 100 on the list of the world’s best tennis players. Casper Ruud remains in fourth place. As number 136 on the ATP list, the current ranking is the Spaniard’s weakest since April 2003, reports Marca, among others. Then Nadal was 16 years old. The 37-year-old is long-term injured and thus did not get the chance to defend the 2,000 ranking points from last year’s Roland-Garros. Back then, Nadal secured his 22nd Grand Slam title with victory over Casper Ruud in the final. On Sunday, Novak Djokovic (36) took his 23rd and sailed back to the top of the world ranking. The Serb is thus the winningest male tennis player in the Grand Slam context of all time. At Wimbledon later this summer, he is chasing his 24th title. (NTB)
