Closes Follobanen for inspection – news Oslo and Viken – Local news, TV and radio

– Earlier in the week there was an incident in the Blixtunnel where a train got stuck because the contact wire for the running current fell down, says the press officer at Bane Nor, Olav Nordli. On Monday, a train was stuck in the tunnel after water had dripped into the catenary system. 70 passengers were trapped for almost three hours. The system for the driving current must be checked in both tunnel runs. – The reason for that turns out to be a drop of water which has weakened the cable so that it smoked. That is why we have decided to carry out an inspection of the entire facility, says Nordli. According to Vy, every other train on the route has been cancelled. The remaining trains run on the old Østfold line. Bane Nor announces a new update at 12 Friday 26 May. It is unclear when the tunnel will be opened for operation: – It is too early to say anything for sure. This has come up quickly. But it’s a big job, there’s a total of four miles of tunnel in the two races. We have to get back to that, says Nordli.
