One of those who met the wolf was Kine Moldal Andersen. On Friday evening at 1800, she was on her way home in her car. – I came driving from Hamar in the direction of Sandvika with my seven-year-old in the back seat. Then I see that a large, beautiful figure comes running on the road a short distance in front of me. It was a very “wooow” experience, she says. She says that there were several people who saw the wolf. It ran across the road in front of her and in the direction of an on-site treatment plant. It was Hamar Arbeiderblad that mentioned the case first. She says that she was a little put off by the experience. – It was incredibly cool and just joy. I had no fear at all, she says. According to Moldal Andersen, no one has seen the wolf inside the housing estate itself. Earlier, a wolf is said to have been observed in the Stange village not far from Ottestad. She wonders if it is the same wolf. APPROACHING: Here the wolf runs across the road right by the Fjetrehagan housing estate in Ottestad. Photo: Kirsti Bjørge Confirms that it is a wolf Simen Bredvold from the State Nature Inspectorate confirms to news that it is a wolf. He has seen pictures and a video taken of it. – Based on its behaviour, it does not appear to be entirely comfortable. He is probably trying to get out of the area, says Bredvold. CONFINED: Simen Bredvold from SNO believes the wolf is struggling to get away from the area. Photo: Private He believes it is probably a young male wolf that has strayed from its territory and is therefore on the move. He asks people to keep calm and let it get away. Bredvold believes there is no reason to be concerned. But he reminds that it is a wild animal, so you should show respect. – It probably won’t stay in that area. But it has probably encountered fences in the form of buildings, roads and fences so that it doesn’t quite know how to get away, he says. Bredvold states that a local predator contact is on site and is observing how the animal is doing. Ottestad is located close to Hamar in Stange municipality. At around 1830 on Friday evening, Petter Mellum, who lives in Ottestad, heard some noises outside the house wall. He saw a figure and quickly suspected what it was. – I read last week that there were wolves in the area. So I went to the living room to look out. Then I pulled out my mobile phone and had it very clearly in front of me, he says. Thus, the 32-year-old took a nice video of the somewhat rare animal running on the field just outside the housing estate. What do you think about there being wolves in your place? – It is a little surprising. The wolf is not usually in such a densely built-up area, he says.
