June 28, 2022 at 17:58 Strict corona rule removed before Tour de France Tour de France organizer has removed the rule that allows teams to be thrown out of the race if at least two riders submit positive corona tests within seven days. The International Cycling Union (UCI) published an updated version of the corona rules on Tuesday. There has been a lot of infection in various teams before the prestigious race, and the UCI has made the choice to relax the rules so that as many people as possible can participate. The field must still be tested closely during the race, which must start with all riders and support staff delivering a negative fast test two days before the race starts. That is, Wednesday. Such a test must also be taken during the rest days. If the rapid test is positive, it must then be confirmed with a PCR test. The rules do not state what happens to the corona-positive rider and can send in reserves. (NTB)
