It was NTB that first reported this. – We have now decided to set up two flights from Khartoum to Amman and Djibouti, says Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ane Haavardsdatter Lunde to news. The Norwegian Armed Forces are contributing Herkules transport aircraft to the operation and the first aircraft will already be leaving tomorrow morning. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the individual must make their own security assessments before choosing to travel to the airport. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ emergency response unit to the neighboring country of Djibouti. The team consists of five people from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oslo and from our embassies in the region, says Lunde. She says that they meet Norwegian citizens arriving in Djibouti from Sudan, ensure coordination and cooperation with other countries, and prepare departure for Norwegian citizens. They can also help with emergency loans and emergency passports.
