23 April 2023 at 18:01 EC bronze for Håvard Jørgensen The 24-year-old Håvard Jørgensen took his first medal in an international championship with a bronze medal in the 67-kilogram class in the EC. Jørgensen was first knocked out in the quarter-finals, but after the requalification he got the opportunity to take a bronze medal and in the bronze final he beat the Turk Murat Firat 3-2 in a nerve-wracking match. The Norwegian suffered several large cuts in Saturday’s quarter-final and was bandaged around his forehead in Sunday’s bronze final. – How is your eye? – I don’t see it, but it doesn’t look very good. The lady is probably not happy. She’s probably happy with the medal, so I hope it goes away. Jørgensen took the lead early on and despite persistent attempts from Firat, he managed to stay in the lead until the end. It is Norway’s fourth medal in this year’s EC. Earlier in the championship, both Oskar Marvik and Othelie Høie took bronze, while Grace Bullen took silver.
