Two winners have now been chosen after a rousing evening of song and joik in Kautokeino. The Sámi Grand Prix has been successfully completed, and 12 artists have competed to win the song competition. Unlike Melodi Grand Prix, the artists compete in two categories, namely joik and song. The six joikers had to enchant the audience using only their own voice and joik, while the six participants in the singing part competed with everything from rap and electronic pop to ballads. One against one in the gold final But before the winners could be chosen, a “elimination round” was carried out. There, the six artists and six joikers competed to be voted through to the gold final. The song “Ále guođe mu” means “don’t leave me” in Norwegian, and Mihka has told news that it was written for his girlfriend.
