According to operations manager Knut Odde, there is a fire in a detached building that contains a restaurant and an apartment. The owner of the apartment has stated that it is empty and is undergoing rehabilitation. The building that is burning has caught fire. There is a lot of smoke at the site and the emergency services are considering evacuating neighboring buildings because of the smoke. For a while there was a danger that the flames would spread to a nearby building containing a car repair shop. That danger has now been averted, says Odde to news. Odde says that the fire was reported by a casually passing ambulance. The message came in at 03.20. Updated at 04.24: The police report that the flames have now subsided. The fire service has not been inside the house and checked, but they have no reason to believe that there are any people in the building. The police are on the scene and have started work to secure traces and gather information.
