About 100 people are isolated after a landslide crossed county road 6928 in Flatanger, Trøndelag on Friday afternoon. But no one is hurt. As a result, the road to the towns of Sitter and Utvorda is impassable. Rune Strøm is a councilor in Flatanger municipality. He says that he himself has not been physically present at the landslide, but has seen the extent via pictures and video. – It is quite a fierce race. We don’t have a full overview yet. Teigmo arrived at the crash site not long before he heard a huge crash. – It had probably been quiet over the road for two hours when I arrived, but not long after I heard a huge crash. First came a river, then forest and large boulders. It was not a pleasant experience. He says the road is frequently used by both commuters and school buses transporting pupils. He doubts that the road will be opened in the next few days. – It is very cumbersome for many people. More people commute to Namsos for work. I myself have customers throughout Namdalen, he says. Now he has to rely on boat transfers to get to and from. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Have to think about preparedness The contractor on site reports that the road will not be opened today, and this will have a number of consequences for people. – We have to think about preparedness. Both fire and health in the first instance. The fire brigade can use ribs. In addition, there is a lot of the population on both sides of the slide who do not get home, says Rune Strøm. I had been at the site for fifteen minutes and then another landslide occurred. There were large stones that came in masses. He goes on to say that a couple of cars had stopped just before when they had seen large amounts of water flowing over the road. Langeng has little faith that the avalanche will stop immediately.
