But now the snow has started to move south, so there will be snow and snow showers there too. – We are considering issuing a warning for large amounts of snow during the day, says Ratajczak. Significant avalanche danger Warnings have already been issued for strong winds at the yellow level and significant avalanche danger at the orange level in several places in the region. The most snow is expected in Sør-Salten and in Nord-Helgeland. But also on the coast of Troms and in Western Finnmark, a lot of snow is expected. And it’s not small things that should slow down. – We can expect over 20 centimeters of snow, mostly in Sør-Salten and Nord-Helgeland. There may also be a lot of snow locally in other places, says the meteorologist. The snow will present challenges for plow crews, and several mountain passes may be closed. But during the snow showers, there will also be south-westerly winds with strength up to stiff gales with gusts of 24 meters per second.
