Air traffic partially underway in Southern Norway – news Rogaland – Local news, TV and radio

It was at 10:00 a.m. that problems arose with the radar system that controls air traffic in southern Norway. – Planes that are in the air are controlled via a backup system, airport director Anette Sigmundstad at Avinor at Stavanger Airport Sola tells news. All air traffic is stopped until the error in the Natcom radar system is found. Airline passengers must meet at the usual time, and comply with information from their airline, says Sigmundstad. – The radar system that controls the airspace of Oslo Airport Gardermoen and Stavanger Airport Sola is not working properly. It is the so-called NATCOM NATC system that is down, says press officer Øystein Løwer in Avinor to VG. This image from Flightradar is from Monday morning. Marketing manager Tine Kleive-Mathisen at Torp Sandefjord airport tells news that the planes will stay on the ground until around 11.20. The Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority has been informed of the incident. – We received information from the emergency services in Avinor immediately after the problem arose. This will be handled further according to Avinor’s emergency procedures, says Håvard Vikheim, director of communications at the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority. Partially underway Airport manager Anette Gudmuindstad at Stavanger Airport Sola informs news at 10.40 that parts of the radar system are operational again. – We now have around 50 per cent capacity for managing the airspace, and that will apply until 2pm, says Sigmundstad. At Bergen Airport Flesland, air traffic is also partially underway again. – Now they have just managed to find the error, so now the airports operate with reduced capacity, and some planes will be able to land and take off again, says Ylva Celius Trulsen in Avinor to news just before 11 o’clock.
