Støre is open to dialogue with the Fosen shareholders – news Norway – Overview of news from various parts of the country

Now at 4 p.m. the fossen campaigners at NSR-Nuorat and Natur og Ungdom are holding a press conference where more information will be provided about the actions. – My message is that anyone who wants to talk to us, and have dialogue in an orderly and good way, we are happy to get in touch with, says Jonas Gahr Støre to news. The shareholders have previously expressed that they no longer wish to meet Oil and Energy Minister Terje Aasland. They only want to talk to the Prime Minister. – We have lost confidence in Aasland and demand that the prime minister clean up, said Elle Margget Nystad, leader of NSR Nuorat. Today, Støre replies that both Terje Aasland, himself and the government want dialogue. Contact with the UN On Wednesday, it also became known that Sami Parliament President Silje Karine Muotka is urging the UN to contact the Norwegian government about the matter. The Sami Parliament has asked the UN’s special rapporteur for the rights of indigenous peoples to enter into a dialogue with the government. How do you approach it? – We are happy to do that. But the important thing for us now is that we have a Supreme Court judgment which emphasizes that the rights of indigenous people have been violated with the concession that has been granted and that remedial compensatory measures must then be taken to prevent such a violation from occurring. The Prime Minister says they are aware of how they can secure the rights of indigenous people and that they do not want a breach of that. – We want conversations with the reindeer industry, Sami interests and those affected about how we can do it in the best possible way, says Støre. – An important meeting Tomorrow, Sámi Parliament President Silje Karine Muotka and Oil and Energy Minister Terje Aasland will meet. Photo: Torbjørn Brovold / news The Prime Minister says that this is a meeting that has been agreed between the Minister of Oil and Energy and the President of the Sámi Parliament. – I think it is an important meeting where you can talk across the table. Støre himself is going to a meeting in Finnmark next week where he will, among other things, visit the Sami Parliament and the reindeer industry. – So we want dialogue and contact. That is the way to find good solutions.
