26 February 2023 at 02:10 70 firefighters and many volunteers assist in Kragerø Between 70 and 80 firefighters and smoke divers from large parts of Telemark and Agder are involved in the extinguishing effort in the center of Kragerø. In addition, volunteers from the Red Cross Aid Corps and Norwegian People’s Aid help. The Coast Guard is involved, and the Norwegian Civil Defense has been called in, says Mayor Grunde Wegar Knudsen. The municipality staffs the town hall where residents can get help. They are also present at the evacuation center at Kragerø Sportell where around 20 residents are accommodated. There is also a psychosocial team ready to help, says Knudsen.
