23 February 2023 at 08:40 Releases photo of Chinese balloon before shooting down The US Air Force has released a photo taken of the alleged Chinese spy balloon that was shot down over South Carolina on 3 February this year. The photo was taken from a U-2 reconnaissance plane and shows the large white balloon with two solar panels. A preliminary analysis of the equipment on the balloon strengthens the opinion that it was a Chinese spy balloon, it was said in an announcement from the US military’s Northern Command earlier this week. China rejects this and maintains that it was a weather balloon that went astray.
