18 February 2023 at 13:44 Oslo City was evacuated The Oslo City shopping center was evacuated on Saturday afternoon due to smoke. Seven people were checked by health personnel on the spot, Oslo 110 central informs. At 1.30pm on Saturday, the emergency services rushed to the center following a report of smoke developing in a ventilation system. Some smoke was detected on the 4th and 6th floors of the shopping centre. The fire brigade had a difficult job trying to find the cause of the smoke. – I would like to believe that the ventilation system here covers the whole of Oslo City. In principle, then, it could be anywhere, said duty commander Rune Elstad at Oslo 110 central to news at 14:00. A little after 3 p.m., it was concluded that there was no fire. The fire alarm was reset and Oslo City reopened. The fire service believes that the smoke may have entered the ventilation system from some construction work on the site.
