A man in his 30s from Moss has been charged with rape of children under 14. The man has held a leading position for a leisure service for children and young people in the municipality. The man in his 30s pleads guilty. He was then reported for having sexual images and videos of children. The police searched the man’s home two days later. On the same day, he was charged with being in possession of sexual material. – We have so far found a large amount of images and videos that portray sexual abuse and that sexualize children, the police write in a press release. After the man in his 30s was arrested by the police, he was also charged with rape of children under 14. In a ruling from Søndre Østfold district court, it appears that the man himself told the police about the assault he is now accused of having committed. The assault is said to have occurred in 2022. Opened helpline Moss municipality is aware of the charge against the man. – It is a terrible case for our entire youth community and those who are directly affected by the case, says Silje Hobbel. She is director of cultural upbringing and activity. Moss municipality has set up a helpline for those who need to talk to someone. – The municipality now wants as far as possible to take care of children, young people and guardians who are affected by the case, says Hobbel.
