All airlines in the Lufthansa group are affected. According to the newspaper, it is the check-in and boarding systems that are affected. Machines can take off, but without luggage, as it cannot be checked in, writes Business Insider. Lufthansa’s subsidiaries; Germanwings, Eurowings, Lufthansa Regional and Lufthansa City Line are all affected by the failure. Lufthansa has an extensive route network that includes all of the world’s six continents. The company is betting heavily on domestic routes in Germany and from its German bases out into Europe.
