The businessman was yesterday acquitted by the Hålogaland Court of Appeal for having flown a drone illegally in Svalbard. The public prosecutor’s office has announced that they will appeal, so the lawsuit will not come in any case until the judgment has been assessed by the Supreme Court. – He has an unconditional right to have his costs reimbursed if there is an acquittal. In a case like this, large sums can be involved, says Heiberg to news. – But we will have to come back to the scope of a possible lawsuit. According to the newspaper, Heiberg says that they believe the verdict shows that Yakunin has been illegally imprisoned and that he has thus missed out on significant income. He spent 51 days in custody, from 17 October to 7 December 2022. – It is natural that we are talking about very significant sums, says Heiberg to TV 2. Yakunin was also acquitted by a unanimous Nord-Troms district court in December.
