Ukrainian soldiers will be trained by the Home Guard in Trøndelag – news Trøndelag

The Ukrainian soldiers will arrive in Trøndelag sometime after Easter. Dagens Næringsliv reported the news first. – Firstly, I think this is a declaration of confidence. Secondly, I am grateful that we are given this assignment. I think it is very important that we are allowed to sweeten Ukraine in the war against Russia, says Jens Christian Junge, head of the Home Guard in Trøndelag to news. The soldiers will receive training in sanitation, sharpshooting and team building. – We will run specialist training. This means that recruit training is taking place in England now. What we are going to do is a continuation after the recruit training, says Junge. Trainer in Trøndelag The armed forces have not decided exactly where the Ukrainian soldiers will receive their training. What will happen to some of the facilities Heimevernet has in Trøndelag. In the first instance, around 100 soldiers will arrive. They will go through courses that last a few weeks. – We are a little unsure right now how long the various courses will last, but approximately 4-5 weeks. They will then be sent back and we will get a new pool, says Junge. Heimvernet has been told that the training will end in 2023, but is preparing for it to be longer. – Personally, I think we must be prepared to keep doing this as long as the war lasts and maybe even longer, says Junge.
