– We have stopped the digging at the site until we can conclude whether it is human or animal bones, says operations manager in the police, Bjørnar Gaasvik. – At the moment we have no idea what it is, says team leader André Duncan Storhaug at the scene. It was a construction worker who contacted the police after finding the remains. The police have examined the remains and found that they are old. – Forensic technicians have looked at the bones. The bones must be newer than 1537, but still so old that it is not part of recent criminal case history. They have been handed over to the churchwarden. The police are not doing anything more with the case, says head of investigation in FSI Marius Aasbø to Adresseavisen. Operations leader André Duncan Storhaug. Photo: Sunniva Skurtveit / news
