The letter Nav never sent – Statement

Most of us have contact with NAV up to several times during our lives. I have a chronic illness – chronic illnesses have an advantage – you get a lot of time to get used to them. Because they don’t go away. The downside is… it doesn’t go over. For those who are on sick leave, the contact consists of submitting a sick leave and applying for sick pay. If you have been on sick leave for a longer period of time, you will receive an “Activity Reminder” The latter is a rather strange affair. Based on the current regulations and not least the so-called “work line”, or should we say “forced work line”, one can quickly get the impression that there is a thin line here if everything is not in order. The purpose is of course to ensure that the person on sick leave follows the regulations (which in itself can be demanding enough). For some, the illness means the end of their working life, for others (like me) it means restructuring – making arrangements to stay at work – and periods of sick leave. In any case, it is important that the person on sick leave is looked after and treated with respect. I am aware that much of the correspondence is so-called standard letters, but someone has created a letter template. Letter templates need to be updated as far as rules and procedures are concerned, but maybe it’s time to update the text itself as well? Based on my own experience and many conversations with others who have been on sick leave over time, I have created a draft for NAV, which they would like to receive completely free of charge. That way I will avoid compensation claims for having worked while I was 100 per cent sick. Hi NN You have now been on sick leave for eight weeks. First of all, we hope you are doing well and that you get the medical help you need. In this letter, we will write a little about what we can assist with and a little about what you must do in order for us to be able to pay sickness benefits to you or your employer. At the end of the letter, we have created a small checklist for you, so that you can easily tick off the various tasks that you must take care of. We at Nav have a large device at our disposal to be able to help you in the best possible way. Illness and the need for help are individual and in this letter we can only go into the most elementary, but you will be given the name and contact information of your supervisor here. She will be available on a fixed day of the week (see attachment) Your supervisor can help with filling in applications/make contact with the municipality and possibly establish contact with your employer if you think it is difficult. We also attach useful links for those of you who are computer literate and want to – and are able to – do as much as possible yourself. The sick leave has two main purposes, 1) Give you the best possible medical treatment by allowing you to show up for treatment unimpeded without much planning in relation to work 2) Allow you to have the necessary peace of mind to take care of yourself. At the same time, all research shows that it is very important to maintain good contact with the employer – and preferably work a little based on what health allows. It will – for most people – make it easier when you eventually return to work. For some, it is important to maintain close contact with the workplace – and many can, with a little simple arrangement, function well at work if they wish. For others, there is a real need to be “detached” from the employer for a shorter or longer period. You know that best yourself, but we think it is wise that you at least hold a dialogue meeting with your employer and then together with your supervisor from Nav. In order to receive sickness benefit, you must – in addition to submitting a sick leave (electronically) – also apply for sickness benefit when the sick leave expires or is renewed. If you think this is difficult, this is something your supervisor can assist with. We hope you get the help you need and that we can assist you in the best possible way. Greetings to us at Nav.
