– It’s chaos here. A wheel loader with a chain pulls trailers up the hill, says Torbjørn Rypestøl. He himself is on his way east on the E39 in Agder and describes the situation after two trailers are said to have stopped in Osestadbakken in Lindesnes. – I had to back down, but the car turned to the side. I had to have push assistance to get going again. You have to have some speed. It doesn’t work with a hill start, he says to news. There is also a lot of traffic in Fardalsbakken since there is a standstill in Osestadbakken. There are several road scrapers, wheel loaders and plow trucks on site. Around 18.30 it is snowing heavily in the area. Photo: Tom-Richard Hanssen Olsen / news Trucks do not arrive At 18.25 Rypestøl says that he has encountered another challenge in traffic. This time in Fardalsbakken a little further east. – Here there are two plow trucks queuing in the direction west, towards Stavanger, he says. Traffic operator Marita Bakkebø at Vegtrafikksentralen south confirms that the situation is now demanding in Osestadbakken. – Trailers can’t get up the hill so wheel loaders have to pull them up. The plow crew can’t get there either because there is so much queue, says Bakkebø. She states that there is currently a 45 minute delay in the westbound direction towards Stavanger. In the eastbound direction towards Kristiansand, the delay is 27 minutes. Has issued a hazard warning The Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow hazard warning for parts of Eastern Norway and Southern Norway. From Monday afternoon and the next 24 hours, between 15 and 30 centimeters of snow is expected. On-duty meteorologist Ingrid Bentsen says on Monday evening it will snow mostly in western parts of Agder. – At the moment, the most precipitation is west of Kristiansand, but beyond the night and tomorrow we expect the most precipitation in the areas east of Kristiansand, says Bentsen.
