8 January 2023 at 05:40 Opseth wins in Sapporo Silje Opseth from Hønefoss won the World Cup steeplechase race in Sapporo, Japan, on Sunday. Thea Minyan Bjørseth was second best Norwegian in 8th place. Opseth won with a jump of 126 meters ahead of Slovenian Ema Klinec and Eva Pinkelnig from Austria. Opseth won 10 points ahead of Klinec, and 10.3 points ahead of Pinkelnig. 23-year-old Opseth was also in the lead after the first half, and kept the lead all the way through. (NTB)
