2 January 2023 at 14:00 Kaski will not run for SV leader Kari Elisabeth Kaski (35) will not run for SV leader, she herself states in a message on Facebook. – I know this will disappoint a lot of people. And it’s a decision that makes me unhappy. But I have come to the conclusion that it is the right choice for me in the situation I and my family are in now, she writes in the post. When Audun Lysbakken resigned from the leadership position in SV last November, Kaski floated as one of several names of possible successors. Only deputy leader Kirsti Bergstø has stood as a leader candidate. In the post, Kaski writes that it was difficult to decide not to run for leader in the party. She is currently on parental leave after what she herself describes as a tough pregnancy and maternity period. – The decision has taken time because I take seriously that so many in the party want me as the new leader. It is an enormous declaration of confidence, writes Kaski.
