14 December 2022 at 07:12 Lower electricity tax in the first three months of 2023 – The winter months in Norway are cold and dark. This is the time of year when most of us use the most electricity. With the high electricity prices we have had in the past year, the government believes it is right to have reduced the electricity tax in the period January, February and March 2023, says Finance Minister Trygve Slagsvold Vedum (Sp) in a press release. The Storting adopted the low “winter rate” in 2023 yesterday. The general rate in the electricity tax will be reduced from 15.41 øre per kWh to 9.16 øre per kWh with effect from the turn of the year until the end of March 2023. From and including 1 April 2023, there will be a general rate that will apply until 2023.
