– One person has been declared dead at the scene. Two others are conscious, but their state of health is otherwise unclear, the police say. The E18 is closed in both directions at the site, reports Vegtrafikksentralen. Forensic technicians are on their way. The National Road Administration’s accident team has also been notified. Operations manager Ole Bjørn Kleivane in the Agder police district says it appears to be a serious accident. Two stuck – Two cars are involved in what appears to be a collision. A total of three people are involved in the accident, says Kleivane. Two people were trapped in one car. The traffic accident happened on the E18 at Lundeslettene in Tvedestrand. – Work is being done on site to get these out of the car, says the operations manager. He urges motorists queuing to remain calm. – They must not try to turn on the road. This takes the time it takes, he says. Detour routes must be paved The Road Traffic Center informs news at 14.40 that motorists who are queuing must wait at least one more hour in the queue. This is because the bypass roads to be used must be sprinkled and salted before traffic from the E18 is allowed onto them. – This is a matter of smaller county roads where measures must be taken, says traffic operator Kjetil Løvås in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. He encourages people to stay in line and not stress. – We have received tips that some motorists have driven out of the queue to turn around. This has created dangerous situations, says Løvås.
