Holmes believes the sentence she has been sentenced to is too severe, and she also objects to the basis for the sentence. Holmes and the defenders thus have until March 3 to submit case papers and other documents to support the appeal, says a statement from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in California. The sentencing became clear in November after Holmes was found guilty in January of billions in fraud over a 15-year period against the investors in Theranos.
