The Ongoing Fire Crisis in Los Gallardos, Almería

The fire in Los Gallardos, located in Almería, remains active this weekend, prompting intense firefighting efforts. The flames have engulfed 6,600 hectares, devastating vast areas and leading to significant destruction.

Conditions and Response Efforts

Thanks to improved meteorological conditions, including humidity levels at 50% and reduced wind speeds, firefighting teams have transitioned from defensive to offensive strategies. Antonio Sanz, advisor to the Junta de Andalucía, emphasized this as a critical “window of opportunity” to combat the fire effectively.
